Introduction

In 2009, when we decided to set up a new company, we chose SCIEN Analytics as its name. SCIEN stands for SCIence for the ENtrerprise.

This is a statement of intent, but what kind of science do we offer to enterprises? The so-called data science, a discipline that incorporates elements from many fields, such as maths, statistics, pattern recognition and learning, visualization, probabilistic models, data mining and high performance computing. And all this with the goal of extracting meaning from data and create value on it. As data scientists, we manage large amounts of data, we merge data sources together, we ensure consistency of data-sets, we create visualizations to aid in understanding data and we build tools that enable others to work effectively.

In brief, we seek to use all available and relevant data to tell a story that can be easily understood and with a happy ending: benefits to our customers. Meanwhile, we look forward to your story.
